Professor at the Faculty of Business Technologies of the Georgian Technical University, Candidate of Technical Sciences and Doctor of Economic Sciences, Full Member of the Georgian Academy of Economic Sciences and the Abkhazian Academy of Sciences. He is a veteran of war and military forces. Awarded the Order of Honor. Born in Sokhumi, Georgia. Married, has two children and six grandchildren. Graduated from: 1964, Sokhumi Industrial Technical College, Faculty of Construction, majoring in "Industrial and Civil Construction"; 1974, All-Union Polytechnic Institute (Moscow), Faculty of Construction, majoring in "Industrial and Civil Construction", and in 2000, Sokhumi Branch of Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (in Tbilisi), majoring in "Production Economics and Management"; 1982, Post-graduate studies at the All-Union Polytechnic Institute (Moscow) with the award of the scientific degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences; 2003, Doctoral studies at the V. Melkadze Scientific-Research Institute of Socio-Economic and Regional Problems with the award of the scientific degree of Doctor of Economic Sciences. He worked: 1961 – 1964 in the Construction Department of the Ministry of Communal Economy of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia - as a worker, then in 1964 – 1975 in the Project Bureau - as a design engineer; 1975 – 1979 in the Regional Committee of the Party of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia of the Central Committee of the Party of Georgia in the Construction and Industrial Department - as an instructor. 1979 – 2006 (for 27 years) he worked in the banking system of Abkhazia - as a manager - from 1979 in the Republican Department of "Mshenbank" of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia of "Mshenbank" of Georgia, which in 1987 was transformed into "Mretsvmshenbank", in 1992 - into "Industria Bank", in 1996 - into "United Georgian Bank" and in 2005 into "VTB Bank Georgia". Along with his main activity, he was engaged in pedagogical activity: 1975 – 1985 at Sokhumi Industrial Technical College - teacher; 1985 – 1990 at the Faculty of Construction of the Sokhumi Branch of the Georgian Polytechnic Institute - teacher; 1990 – 1996 at the Faculty of Economics of Sokhumi State University - teacher, 1996 – 2004 - associate professor, 2004 – 2006 - professor. Since 2006 he has been engaged in pedagogical activity at the Georgian Technical University and today works at the Department of Finance and Banking Technologies of the Faculty of Business Technologies, from 2006 - associate professor, from 2009 - professor. He has published two monographs, 15 textbooks, 120 scientific articles.

Academic Doctor of Economics, author of more than 80 papers on economic theory, macroeconomics, regionalism, finance and agrarian economy. Worthy of special mention are his monographic studies: "Domestic and Foreign Economic Aspects of Food Security of Georgia - Theory, Methodology, Practice" (2003), "Economic Mechanisms for the Formation and Development of Local Self-Government in Georgia" (2013), "Macroeconomic Regulation of Food Security in Georgia" (2013); Textbooks: "Financial and Banking Statistics" (2004 and 2009), "Municipal Budgetary System and Financial Management" (2005), "Finances" (2007), "Theory of Finance with Georgian Practice" (2009), "Fundamentals of Economics: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics" (2010), "Social Policy" (2013), "Social Economy" (2015) and "Economy and Management of the Social Sphere" (2015). He started his scientific-pedagogical activity in 1983 and went from a junior researcher (senior teacher) to the position of head of department (professor). In 1996-1997 he was the Deputy Head of the Prices, Finance and Credit Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. In 2000-2002 he worked as a local financial consultant at the World Bank's "Municipal Programs Implementation Coordination Center". In 2001 he underwent an internship at prestigious training centers for civil servants in Poland (Warsaw) and France (Anger). Currently he is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Business and Law of Gori State Teaching University; Full Member of the "Phasis" Academy of Sciences. He actively participates in international and local conferences and seminars.
